How WBH conservation project brings clean water to rural homes
For years, every broken water source meant an eight-kilometre walk through the forest for Dema, 34, of Wangjokha in Thedtsho Gewog, Wangdue. During the monsoon, she and three other residents made the journey up to three times a month to repair the source, often battling leeches along the way. Each trip took hours. Now, Dema can fill her water containers at home.
